Volunteer Information

If you are looking for a unique opportunity to serve others, make new friends and learn new skills, consider volunteering for UofL Hospital and UofL Brown Cancer Center. We depend a great deal on our volunteers and their gift of time. As we grow and change, volunteers are needed to meet our changing environment.
As a volunteer, you can enjoy a genuine sense of satisfaction from helping our staff in giving high quality, compassionate care to our patients and visitors. Each year our volunteers contribute tens of thousands of hours helping us provide high quality care to our patients, visitors, and community. They bring cheerful smiles and unhurried care to our patients, their families, friends, our physicians and staff.
We have many opportunities which include:
- Information desk
- Greeters
- Emergency department
- Patient escort service
- Transport
- Surgery waiting areas
- Radiology waiting area
- Clerical
- Special projects
- And many other opportunities
If you have a desire to help others, we have wonderful options for you. We are always developing new programs and looking for new ways to support our customers.
If you are willing to give four hours a week, we have a position for you! We ask all of our new volunteers to give a minimum of 40 hours of service to our organization. We allow flexible scheduling for most of our volunteers, so you can plan your service around your lifestyle.
